ChampionSteel Residential Security Gates – Built to Deter, Designed to Endure
A house gate is your first line of defense. At ChampionSteel Projects, we engineer residential gates that don't just look solid — they are solid. Every gate starts with a 50x50x3mm SHS main frame, fully seam-welded at all corners and joints. Infill consists of 20x5mm flat bars spaced at 90mm centers — close enough to prevent arm or tool access, but open enough to maintain visibility. Internal diagonal bracing is welded inside the hollow frame, invisible yet essential for preventing sag over years of daily use.
The hinge side receives two additional vertical stiffeners. Three heavy-duty barrel hinges (minimum 100mm long, 25mm diameter) are welded through the frame face and into the stiffener plate — not just surface tacked. Each hinge includes a grease nipple and a stainless steel pin for silent, corrosion-free operation. On the latch side, a full-height lock stile accepts a euro-profile cylinder with anti-drill, anti-pick, and anti-snap features. A three-point locking rod system is available as an upgrade, engaging top, bottom, and side strikes simultaneously.
Surface protection follows a five-step process: degreasing, abrasive blast cleaning to Sa 2½ (near-white metal), hot-dip galvanizing (optional but recommended), two-part epoxy zinc phosphate primer (60–80µm), and finally a polyester powder coat in any RAL color (80–120µm). All cut edges and weld seams receive extra film thickness to prevent capillary corrosion.
Installation uses 60x60x3mm posts set in 600mm deep x 300mm wide concrete footings (25MPa mix with rebar). Posts are perfectly plumb; the gate hangs with a 5mm gap on the hinge side, 10mm on the latch side, and 30mm ground clearance. Every gate is tested for lock shear resistance (250kg force) and hinge cycle endurance (5,000 operations). A 5-year structural warranty and a 3-year coating warranty back every installation.
